GAAP reporting, fund accounting, financing support, and tax for operators in real estate — self storage, car wash, multifamily, hotel, REITs — and skilled trades — HVAC and plumbing.
Six service lines, every one delivered with partner-level engagement and the technical depth your lender, LP, or PE buyer expects.
Monthly close, consolidations, and defensible financials. Property- through fund-level. Built to hold up with auditors, lenders, and LPs.
JV accounting, waterfall validation, and LP reporting. We track equity, distributions, and promote through the full deal lifecycle.
Lender packages, covenant tracking, and refi prep. Reporting built for the way agency, bank, and private lenders actually underwrite.
Audit-ready close, PBC management, and technical accounting memos. We handle the auditor relationship so your team can run the business.
Entity, partnership, and REIT tax. Cost segregation, 1031s, partnership allocations, and REIT testing — under one roof.
Outsourced finance leadership. Stand in for or work alongside your in-house team — without the full-time cost.
Pick a vertical to see the work we do and the problems we solve.
Single-facility owners through 25+ facility portfolios. Sloppy books cost you basis points at sale — we close monthly, tie property management software to the GL, and produce NOI that holds up in a refi.
Sponsors and platforms in the express tunnel category — 5 to 75 sites, often PE-backed or chasing roll-up scale. Multi-site operations need real consolidations, not a stack of spreadsheets.
Syndicators and family offices with 500 to 10,000 units across stabilized and value-add deals. Your property managers each report differently. Your investors expect the same package every quarter.
Owners of select-service and full-service hotels, often with flag agreements and management companies layered on top. Brand reporting doesn't tie to your GL — we reconcile, normalize, and produce financials you can hand to a lender or buyer without flinching.
Private REITs, REIT-electing partnerships, and sponsors preparing for an eventual REIT structure. REIT compliance is unforgiving.
Single-shop contractors through multi-branch platforms, often PE-backed or PE-bound. Service plus install, recurring maintenance, fleet operations — built for HVAC platforms preparing for the next round of capital or a sale to PE.
Residential and commercial contractors. Single-truck operations through multi-state platforms. Contract jobs, T&M, service-and-repair — each accounted for the way it actually works.
You get the people who built the firm — not a first-year staff. Behind us, we use AI to take the routine work off the partner's desk so judgment work gets the time it deserves.
30 minutes. We learn the structure, the lender, the LPs, the pain. No pitch deck.
Fixed scope, fixed deliverables, fixed timeline. Quoted per engagement — not by the hour.
Branden or Preston is in every engagement. Recurring monthly close or one-time technical work.
This is a small firm by design. When you hire us, you get us.
Branden began his career at CLA (CliftonLarsonAllen), where he specialized in tax preparation and planning for real estate development and construction clients. He holds a master's in accounting from the University of Illinois and is a Florida-licensed CPA.
From there he moved to the operating side, holding finance leadership roles at real estate development and construction companies — Controller, then Finance Director, and most recently CFO for a private real estate development fund operator. Across more than a decade in the industry, he has built and run the finance function through deal flow, fund reporting, construction draws, and lender relationships.
The combination of tax-trained technical depth, real estate domain expertise, and operating-CFO experience is what he brings to every Haag & Gillion engagement.
Preston began his career at PwC, building technical accounting and audit foundations through Big 4 training.
He is a Director at a private equity firm with $2 billion in AUM across self storage and express car wash, where he runs investor relations and the accounting function. On the IR side: quarterly reporting, capital calls, distributions, and investor communications. On the accounting side: the close, financial reporting, and audit relationships. In his time at the firm he has raised and deployed more than $500 million in equity into self storage and express car wash deals — and sourced the debt financing to back them.
The combination of Big 4 technical rigor, head-of-accounting execution, and capital markets fluency is what he brings to every Haag & Gillion engagement.
